About the role
Keep our community garden looking lovely and vibrant by doing some maintenance and planting. If possible, we’d love to organise a gardening group so that members of the community can share in contributing the space, with a bit of support from someone with a green thumb.
About you
A love of gardening is what we’re looking for, with a willingness to get your hands dirty (hard to avoid!) and if you’re interested, openness to leading a small group of volunteers and community members. As with all our roles, alignment with our values and openness to learning is a must.
Commitment
A couple of hours a week, which for now could be flexible within working hours (Monday-Friday). If you’d like to lead a small group we’d be looking for a regular time, so that we can invited others along.
Support and Learning
You’ll receive support from our Community Lead and Volunteer Coordinator to get you going and if you’re open to starting a group, getting the word out. As with all our volunteer opportunities, you’ll also have access to a range of free, formal training opportunities including Mental Health First Aid, The Care Certificate and First Aid.
