Are you a student looking to kickstart your career in health, social care or social justice?

At Likewise, we feel strongly about the people we work with, about broad, inclusive communities, promotion of wellbeing, and about what good care looks like and so our voluntary placements are designed to equip the next generation of leaders with the skills, values and emotional intelligence needed to make an immediate impact in whatever career path they choose.

Our placements will give you front-line experience working with a diverse range of people, as part of a cohort of future leaders embarking on a learning journey full of opportunity to nourish your personal growth and professional development.

Sandwich Year
Placements

Eligibility

Students from any course background looking for non-clinical, front-line work with people (e.g. psychology, sociology, community development, law, education)

Creative Therapies
Placements

Formats
  • 1-2 days per week for a minimum of 6 months; or
  • 1-2 days per week for 16 weeks during the summer
Eligibility

Students studying Art, Dance Movement, Drama or Music Psychotherapy with access to external clinical supervision.

Please note we don’t currently offer counselling or talking therapy placements and that this placement is not suitable for psychology students.

Summer
Placements

Eligibility

Students or graduates from any course background looking for a voluntary summer internship in a community wellbeing setting. This placement is also suitable for career changers looking for experience in the wellbeing/mental health field.

Graduate
Placements

Eligibility

Students or graduates from any course background looking for a voluntary summer internship in a community wellbeing setting. This placement is also suitable for career changers looking for experience in the wellbeing/mental health field.

Essential: some degree of experience working or volunteering 1:1 with vulnerable populations – in mental healthcare, social care, the charity sector or a similar environment.
